Come on a hike first: guests are welcome on nearly everything the club does. When you are ready, this goes to the membership chair.

Terms of Membership

What the club asks of its members, and what you are agreeing to at the bottom of this form.

The purposes of the club

To explore, protect, and enjoy the natural resources and unique ecosystems of our land, and to respect and protect wildlife, forests and plants, water, and scenic values.
To support and promote educational programs on these and related subjects.
At all times to preserve, protect, and help restore, as far as we are able, the environment in which we live.
To strengthen a sense of community among our members.

To be eligible, you need to

Subscribe to the purposes of the California Alpine Club.
Take part in two Club Events in the twelve months before you apply. At least one has to be a work event at Alpine Lodge, or an alternate work project arranged with the membership chair.
Name two current members as sponsors.

What membership expects of you

The club has no paid staff, and its low co-op prices depend on that. Members are expected to help with club operations or a club event at least once a year, and everyone practices Leave No Trace on hikes, on outings, and at both lodges.

Worth knowing before you start

Each adult on a joint membership needs their own two Club Events.
Former members returning within five years of lapsing pay no entry fee and need no Club Events, but still need two sponsors. Write to the membership chair rather than using this form.
